There are things which we consider insignificant and because of this we often ignore them, taking them for…granted, I should say. And often, these things are the ones which somehow become not so insignificant. Over night. Like Magic! The same happened here, but this time instead of Love, Friendship and other things, it is Keys! Yes, चाबियाँ! And these Keys are definitely not your everyday keys!

This week I finally finished one of the most awaited show (for me) of the year which goes by the name Locke and Key. हा, ताला🔒 और चाबी! But here Locke doesn’t literally mean Locke, but in some way it does, but still it doesn’t mean, but still you know—*sigh* छोड़ो। Locke and Key S01 was released in Feb. 2020, but I watched it in Dec. 2020, because like everything else in my life—my career for example—I like to ignore it until the last minute (in this case it is good stories). The show is based on the Comic series of the same name, but now I can safely say, there are a lot of differences in the comic and show (story wise), which doesn’t make it less interesting.

So, now I am going to bore you all with what’s the story and ooh what are these keys, and where are their locks or things like that but NO! Absolutely NOT! I wouldn’t. *glances here and there* I didn’t mean to shout like that, but it’s not my place to tell you all of this. Instead of that I am going to give you a sample, a Basic Premise as everyone calls it. The premise is that 3 kids discover hidden Magical Keys, which fits into your mundane looking locks and sometimes not so mundane looking locks too…

These kids here moved back to their Father’s home🏡 with their Mother, when their Father was murdered (because yeah o(*￣︶￣*)o, that has to happen) and when the youngest one let loose someone (गलती से of course), an Echo, who is hell bent on acquiring one of the keys, maybe the most important one (and maybe murder one or two on the way, and here one or two means the Locke Family basically), for some sinister purpose, they have to learn the secrets of these Keys while preventing them from falling into wrong hands and also saving their hands in the process. *mutters* Anything I am forgetting? Oh yes! And stop that Echo from getting that key and essentially anyone in the process. So, there it is, your basic premise, for you to consider, and ponder upon, ताकि if you feel that it’s something for you, then…it is for you.

Well, some caveats for you before you start:

·       The story revolves around children, yes teenagers, so expect…quirky decisions. And out of mind decisions too. Well, character arc and development have to start somewhere, doesn’t it?

·       You might start to feel that one character in particular is doing stuff on whim…don’t worry, just ignore. Let the story progress and enjoy it.

·       And the last is that, stop expecting more caveats. और कितने चाहिए तुम लोगों को? Stop expecting and start watching.

Then there are the Keys 🗝. Origin of the Keys and all the powers are not my tale but story’s own. But expect peculiar Keys. And peculiar things, both beautiful and terrible.

And of course, how can a story be complete without its villain or antagonist. Our antagonist here is…something. I liked the villain. I hope you like the villain too.

Now, my verdict. I am writing this after finishing the 2^nd season, so you already know that I will be returning for the 3^rd one. I have one Hope and that is that the story should now come to its end. Maybe not S03 but S04 should be the last because this is that one story which will not at all benefit by its extension. And it’s going to be a really good thing if the Makers also understand it. There’s no need for any in depth discussion about whether it was good or bad or this or that, no. I know that reviews often take one side but to be honest it’s more about one’s perspective. You might find one story good, but the other (or any reviewer of any big name) might find it bad and will write a negative review about it. And this doesn’t really tell us whether we like it or not because in the end it’s us who have to watch it for ourselves and it's us who has to decide whether it’s something for me or not. But as far as I am concerned🤔, you might have already understood that I loved this story. It hooked me from the first episode and the best thing about it—as per me—is that it doesn’t linger on extra things or unneeded things, unless necessary, because then it would just become downright boring and not watchable. One person, who’s watching the stuff, pretty much understands the stuff when one watch it or at least one gets an idea as to what the story is all about (you know, the themes and lessons and stuff like that). But if you didn’t, you don’t have to worry because I have been there and I still am, but luckily, I am starting to understand some things and I hope की ऐसा ही चलता रहेगा। So yeah, for me it’s going to be an anticipated watch on my TBW📺, probably releasing in 2023, if production gets delayed. And I hope that my Basic Premise might have made your curiosity a little hungry. And what if you didn’t, you ask? Hmm…फिर कुछ नहीं। सब चंगा सी!
